‘The Old Dairy’ is a former Yorkshire Dales milking parlour and is over 200 years old. We have been opened for business since 2002. Our main aim during the conversion to a Holiday Cottage was to retain as many original features as possible. Our priority now is our guests comfort and we constantly strive to improve on our very high standards.

The atmosphere is cosy yet spacious and the antique furniture fully complements the oak beams and beautiful stonework. The log/coal burning stove adds to the country cottage experience and is perfect for settling down for a relaxing evening by the fireside.

There are stunning panoramic views of The Washburn Valley that have to be seen to be believed. Both lounge/dining areas and bedroom patio doors open directly onto a private patio and pretty garden. The cottage is fully detached and all on ground level. There is secure parking space directly outside the front entrance for 2 cars.

‘Catering in the Cottage’

Self catering doesn’t mean you have to cater for yourselves during the whole of your stay with us. If you have had a busy day exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the wonderful treasures of Yorkshire, you can return to The Old Dairy Cottage and be served a freshly prepared and cooked evening meal. We have a special catering licence to enable us to provide this service and have been accredited with a 5 Star hygiene certificate, of which we are very proud! (Scores on the doors scheme – Food Service Advisory approved).

We source our ingredients from local farms and suppliers – of which there is an abundance of in the area. Our ethos is to serve good honest food using only the finest ingredients. We can cater for special diets and the country kitchen is open from Monday to Thursday.

All we require is 24 hours notice and a hearty appetite!
